We offer referrals for private imaging, including X-rays and MRI scans, through to support and enhance your physiotherapy treatment. These scans can provide valuable insight into the cause of your pain or injury, helping us deliver more accurate and effective care.
Imaging can be especially helpful for issues affecting areas such as the lower back, neck, shoulder, knee, and hip. Common conditions where imaging may be beneficial include:
Herniated or bulging discs
Joint injuries (e.g. shoulder or knee instability)
Ligament or tendon damage
Persistent inflammation or swelling
Suspected arthritis or joint degeneration
Unresolved or recurring pain not improving with treatment
Please note that the cost of the scan is not included in the referral fee.
Please book an "Initial Assessment" appointment to discuss this further following your specialist physiotherapy assessment. The referral is included in the assessment fee.
A follow-up appointment to review and explain the results in relation to your symptoms will be charged at our standard follow-up rate.
Investigations costs are charged separately.
We can refer you to experienced private Consultants for further assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions. This can be an important next step if your symptoms are ongoing, complex, or if there’s a possibility that surgical intervention or specialist input may be needed.
Consultant referrals can help provide a clearer diagnosis, access to additional investigations, or consideration of surgery.
We commonly refer for issues affecting the spine, joints, or soft tissues, particularly when physiotherapy alone may not be enough. Conditions and procedures consultants may assist with include:
Persistent or severe back or neck pain
Suspected disc herniation or spinal stenosis
Osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, or shoulder
Ligament or tendon ruptures (e.g. ACL, rotator cuff)
Meniscus tears in the knee
Joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder)
We will ensure your referral includes a clear clinical summary and relevant background to streamline your consultation.
