Steroid injections, also referred to as Cortisone or Corticosteroid injections, are highly effective anti-inflammatory injections which help treat pain and inflammation when administered into joints or the surrounding tissues. Here at Peak Physio and Injection, we are  highly experienced in  delivering these injections  and  use them as an adjunct to Physiotherapy treatment. 

Steroid injections are available at Buxton and Bradwell sites from both expert Injecting therapists. 

To ensure an efficient service, we will order and collect the medication ourselves if an injection is appropriate. We do not order the medication from your GP practice, saving you  time and hassle!

Steroid injections can provide pain relief from the underlying condition, which can significantly improve your movement and quality of life. They can provide relief for a few months or longer, however this depends on your condition.

We offer steroid injections for:

•   Knee osteoarthritis
•   Shoulder osteoarthritis
•   Shoulder Rotator cuff tendon injuries
•   Thumb pain
•   Hip bursitis
•   Hand conditions, such as Trigger finger and Carpal tunnel syndrome
•   Ankle osteoarthritis

We do not offer spinal injections.

You must have had an initial assessment prior to an injection appointment. This is to ensure we are confident on your diagnosis and whether an injection is safe and appropriate.
If an injection is deemed appropriate, then we will source the steroid medication and book you in for your appointment. You do not get this from your GP, we will order and collect the medication.
The initial assessment costs £75 and follow up steroid injection appointment is £100.
If you require 2 injections in the follow up Injection appointment, e.g. both knees, the cost is £200.
